Gratitude Jar

In this time of stress and turmoil, let us find a way to hold on to the good things around us.  One way to do this is through Gratitude.

It’s easy to get swept up in all that’s being said on social media and the news and fear is at an all time high, but when we stop and remind ourselves of all the things that we have to be thankful for, we begin to feel a sense of peace surround us. And when we live in that place of peace, we release all stress, all negative thoughts and energies that no longer serve us.

Finding that peace is as simple as creating a Gratitude Jar.  You can do this on your own, or have your family members participate in filling the jar every night with 1 (or more) things that they are grateful for.  You can use a plain, simple jar or an elaborately decorated one that you (and your family) decorated with love and positive thoughts.  How about grabbing a fun metallic pen and paper to write on, fold it up and add twine or for the kids, glitter glue to seal it and place it in the jar right before bed.  You can also fill this jar with something that makes you feel good and brings you joy to look at.  For example, if you go for a walk, look around and see if you can find that special something that will remind you of that moment of joy on your walk (i.e., a sparkly rock that caught your eye or a beautiful feather).

You can continue to add to this jar for as long as you like and when you feel so called, you (and your family) can take time to go through the jar and remembers those items that were placed in the jar and remember the WHY they were placed in the jar and let that fill your heart with Gratitude.
